About the Artist
Jean is from the north shore of Massachusetts. She fell in love with its rocky coastline, beautiful beaches and quaint towns and villages. These scenes are the inspiration for her paintings. After many years of studying and painting, she has developed a style of traditional realism with an impressionistic influence.
She began studying art at a young age, with private art classes. She continued with classes throughout high school and earned an art minor in college. Since her retirement, she has devoted her time to painting, taking workshops and classes with many fine artists from the Rockport Art Association and the North Shore Arts Association on Cape Ann in Massachusetts.
Jean recently moved to Maine, where she continues her painting. There she is surrounded by the ocean, beautiful islands, and picturesque sea and landscapes. She has a studio in Camden, Maine, and is currently exhibiting her work at the Art Space Gallery in Rockland, ME.
Jean has had her paintings exhibited in the following places:
In 2017 Jean won two First Place blue ribbons at the Lobster Fest Art Show in Rockland, Maine.
Her work may also be seen at her studio located at 7 Pleasant Ridge Drive in Camden. It is open by chance or appointment.
